Chemo Survival Kit

What do I bring to my chemo sessions?  A series of stuff!

  1. At least 2 litres of water to get me through the day.
  2. Some healthy munchies - steamed sweet potato, organic eggs and almonds will be good
  3. A thermos of green tea, this will calm you down
  4. A pair of cool socks, coz you might get the chills, and one should only wear cool stuff
  5. A nice comfy soft jacket
  6. A good book - you will have a lot of time to kill
  7. An iPad, or tab (with a good headphone) where you can watch a movie - you will have time for a movie
  8. Lotion to keep your skin hydrated
  9. Lip balm - coz you want your lips to be hydrated and look good while pumping drugs into your body of course!
  10. A nice calming essential oil that you can smell - great if you have a necklace or bracelet diffuser.  I love Geranium, it makes me feel happy and I always have peppermint with me, just in case I feel nauseous (so far so good)
  11. Wear comfy loose clothes
  12. A notebook and pen - so you can write whatever thoughts that enter your mind and maybe some advise from the good doctor and nurses
  13. If you are organizing your own meals, make sure you heat up wth lunch and place it in a bag that retains heat, bring along your own fork & spoon.  When the time comes for lunch, your food will still be yummy-ish and enjoy it while watching a movie on your ipad!  I usually will bring my own vegetable fried rice that looks beautiful with all the burst of colours and taste really good.  If you have someone bringing you lunch, awesome!
  14. A prayer book.  It's good to remember God at all times (I try my best)
